THE GUIDELINES
THE GOLDEN RULES TO FOLLOW
The rules of THOSE TIME FORGOT are very important, and we enforce them very strictly to make sure this site runs smoothly. Please make sure to follow and read these rules very carefully.
01. Respect. Respect your staff members. Don't hesitate to ask us any questions about the site. This also includes listen to the staff, if they tell you to do something, or stop doing something, please listen. Respect your fellow members as well. We are suckers for in character drama but not when it comes to real-life issues. And lastly, respect also goes towards your character. Please play the character the correct way, including in species and personality.
02. Character Creation. Before you pick a character, get familiar with the plot and check to make sure your character and face hasn't been claimed yet. We offer canons, our own site canons, the member's requested characters, and allow original character. We do not have a limit for the amount of character one can play, but please remember to keep all accounts active.
03. Original Characters. We accept all sorts of original characters of each species. But please make sure that they are allowed. Also, note that if you want a character to have a relationship (friend, exes, family member, etc) please message the person first before placing the app, once they approve or deny you are allowed to produce your app and get it approved.
04. Sign-Up. Please join as your characters first name, this is mandatory and helps with tagging in threads and plotters. If the first name is taken we will allow you to join with your character's first and last name as the username, but this is rather rare. If you sign up with a username that doesn't seem like a first name you will be deleted and deemed a troll. We ask that any characters that will go by an alias apply with the username of their character (for example, if Zeus were to go by John Doe, you would still sign up as Zeus).
05. Application. Please have your application posted in the application board and label your application with the following "LAST, first", if you are still working on the app during the time of the posting, make sure you label it with a WIP so that staff knows that it is still being worked on. Once your application is complete a member of the staff will look at it and tend to it accordingly, once accepted you can go ahead and do your claims, create a plotter and tracker, and move onto threading with others!
06. God-Moding. This occurs when a character is not taking the hits they receive as the character should. If your character gets stabbed by another character, it's going to hurt and it's going to leave a mark. If you're fighting with another member, you must take the hits properly. If a human were to fight against a siren, the siren will win. In other cases, godmoding can occur when another character is brought in, which is completely fine as long as we don't have them on the site yet. As long as you don't bring the character into major plots, that is perfectly alright.
07. Site Rating. Our forum is strictly RP-13. Yes, you may hint towards sexual acts with characters, flirtations, and violence, and cussing is allowed, but not in every sentence. Anything too violent and/or graphic will be deleted immediately. If you do wish to do something that is considered rated r, please use the fade to black and pick up after the act is finished.
08. Death & Species Change. If your character dies or is turned into another creature, please post in the SPECIES CHANGE thread. We do allow character death and if your character does die, they will become a ghost until they can be brought back from the dead, please check the SPECIES LIST to find out which species/character are capable of bringing back the dead.
09. Activity. Stay active.
10. Posting & Word Count. Everything is to be written in the third person and past tense unless indirect speech, or when posting in the plotter area or anywhere outside of a threading board. Please, no one-liners or two-sentence reply, we don't have a word count per se, but we ask that you at least give someone something to work with.
11. Theft. Stealing is not right. The staff and the members have put their time into creating a place like this and stealing it is just wrong. Would you go around stealing from the supermarket? No, probably not. So please do not steal from the forum or else you will be reported via the DMCA.
